Ahoy shipmates. Day 6...another very busy day in YE.
Ahoy shipmates. Well after 3 nights under sail we are finally at anchor on the north western side of Great Keppel Island.
Ahoy shipmates...Day 4...another very enjoyable day under sail! Now that we are inside the Great Barrier Reef conditions have moderated somewhat...much to the relief of the youth crew.
Ahoy shipmates...day 3...a bit bouncy with plenty of breeze. The strong south easterly winds have persisted overnight and during the day making for some outstanding sailing conditions.

Entered the NE channel into Moreton Bay at 0630 and anchored off Tangalooma at 0900. YC continued with Command Day tasks until 1400 when the Ship was handed back to the Staff Crew.
Command Day handover was conducted whilst at anchor off Point Lookout, Nth Stradbroke Is. Weighed and proceeded at 1445 to commence at sea phase.
Had planned to enter Gold Coast Seaway at 1000 to proceed to anchor, however was unable to due to the presence of 2.5 m swells near the entrance to the channel. Instead motor sailed further north and anchored near Point Lookout on North Stradbroke Island.
Anchored off Coolangatta Beach for a swim and to do mid-voyage chats. Weighed anchor on completion and returned to sea to conduct Demo Tacks and more navigation and sail handling consolidation.
