To improve access to the Young Endeavour Youth Development Program, we offer a number of financially assisted berths to eligible applicants each year.
INCLUSIONS
- 11 Day voyage
- Accommodation aboard the ship
- Chef cooked meals
- Kit bag and voyage handbook
- Young Endeavour crew shirt, hat, water bottle and sailing gloves
EXCLUSIONS
- Transfers to and from the ship
- Travel Insurance
Who is eligible for financial assistance?
- Any youth aged 16-23 who is receiving a qualifying Centrelink benefit.
- If you are under 18 years old and living with a parent who receives a qualifying Centrelink benefit, such as a Supporting Parent Benefit or Disability Support, you may also be eligible.
Applicants offered a financially assisted berth will be asked to submit supporting information, such as an Income Statement from Centrelink, as proof of your financial circumstances.
How much are financially assisted fees?
- If you are offered and accept a financially assisted berth, you will be invoiced for a minimum of $650 for the voyage.
- Transfers are not included, so you must also meet any travel costs to and from the ship.
To be eligible for financial assistance you must indicate you must check the box in your initial application – you cannot apply after you have been offered a berth.

I want to sail, how do I apply for a Scholarship?
Our Scholarship program does not work the way it sometimes does for Schools. Business and community groups provide scholarships to candidates of their choosing.
If you meet the criteria for receiving financial assistance, you can apply for a Financially Assisted berth during the application process - but please note that the number of these berths is limited and you will not be considered for full fare berths.
Can I get VET Fee Help for Young Endeavour?
No, We are not an eligible provider for VET Fee Help.
I applied for a regular berth but my circumstances have since changed, how can I change my status?
You can email us and we will update your application.
I applied for financial assistance but my circumstances have since changed, how can I change my status?
You can email us and we will update your application.
I have been offered a regular berth but I cannot afford it, can I change it to a Financially Assisted berth?
No. To be fair to all applicants we do not allow this. You can refuse the berth and return to the application list for the voyages you have applied for, then email us and we can amend your application to consider you only for financially assisted berths in the future.
