PASSAGE 5A COMMENCES

Hi Everyone, Welcome to our first Captains Log for Passage Five of World Voyage 2015. Our voyage officially commenced for our new World Voyage Crew when they joined Young Endeavour at 1730 today berthed starboard side to the Empress Dock, Southampton. This voyage will see us sail up the Thames to London were we will berth in the historic St Katharine Dock and attend a reception at Trinity House to officially welcome the Ship and Crew to London. We will then head to Lowestoft were Young Endeavour was built for a short 32hr visit prior to sailing into the North Sea to participate in the Tall Ship Festivals and races. This will be another great voyage and all of us are extremely excited about the adventures ahead. The highly experienced Navy Staff Crew that will undertake and facilitate this voyage are as follows: Captain – Gav Sail Master – Kenny Navigator – Miquela BOATSO – Taffy Red Watch Leader – Matt (assisted by Shaun) White Watch Leader – Dougy (assisted by Adrian) Blue Watch Leader – Nick (assisted by Jodie) Chef – Marcos Engineer – Mark (Horto) 2nd Engineer Shaun Doctor Nick Medic Marcos Since joining our new Crew have been kept busy unpacking bags, enjoying a fantastic dinner cooked by Chef Marcos and attending briefings from Kenny the Sail Master and myself. The time is now 2000 and we are just about to commence our harness and climbing safety briefs prior to undertaking first night climbs of the foremast. As normal it has been a busy start to our voyage but already the enthusiasm shown by our new World Voyagers indicates that this is going to be another great voyage. Tomorrow we will depart Southampton and commence our passage to London. Until tomorrow, take care. Yours Aye Captain Gav
