Welcome to the YE Family
This morning we sailed from our overnight anchorage and with our youth crew manning the yards made our way into the Hunter River. When we arrived at the wharf we were met by many of the youth crew members’ families and friends who came onboard to witness the presentation of certificates to each member of the YC. I was honoured to present an emblem from the Order of Australia Association (NSW Branch) to Patrick Greene, a 23 year old from Eastwood, NSW – the YC member who staff agreed contributed the most to the spirit of the voyage. It was a tough decision, but Patrick certainly did himself proud.Soon after, we said our goodbyes, comforted by the knowledge that we had just welcomed 24 new members into the Young Endeavour family. Well done to you all, and until next I have the opportunity to write, fair winds and following seas to you all.Yours ayeMatthew Rowe

Thank you Tarvi, Kaeden and Matt for your narrative of today's events. Intentions are to remain at anchor in Hunters Bay, just off HMAS Penguin, home of the RAN Diving School, a place close to my heart, having spent many a day there under training as a young Officer! The plan is to weigh anchor and proceed to HMAS Waterhen, in Waverton, to pick up our Community Day Sailors from the Windgap Foundation and take them for a sail around the harbour for 3 hours. The Youth Crew will help us host our visitors and give them an experience of Young Endeavour. We will drop them back to Waverton and then proceed to anchor in the harbour where we will have a good view of the Bridge and the Opera House for the Youth Crew's last night onboard. Until tomorrow. Yours Aye, Captain Mike
