Day 4 – Sea Legs Loading!

Hey everyone! (Parents, siblings, and others!)
Boy was today an adventure! We woke up at 0700 after our first taste of 4 hour watches overnight and had an amazing breaky to brace us of the adventure ahead. As usual, Tomo’s Morning Brief was exciting and fun including loads of stuff such as: Trev’s awesome navigation skills, Emma’s history from the diaries of Captain Cook himself (allegedly), and last but definitely not least, Captain Libby with her inspirational quote of the day.

While the sea was rough, we got through and had happy happy happy hour! Later we played Rounds 2 and 3 of Rope Races! Blue watch lost sadly, but don’t worry we will have our comeback! Yes, the questions were difficult, but it was a testimony to how hard we work as a team. Don’t get me wrong, the other watches did well, but they don’t call in as fast as us (GO BLUE WATCH!).

As we “2, 6, heaved” our way through the day, setting lots of sails including the Jib, Fore Staysail and Course, we battled through with some suffering blistered hands and some sea sickness. Lunch was as good as ever because boy does Chef Ash cook up a storm! (p.s if you’re ever looking for an amazing chef head on down to the Young Endeavour!)
We have just arrived in Jervis Bay to get out of the worsening weather. Not sure how long we will be here, but trust us, we will to have a great time! What a heck of a day!
