Day 1 – Brisbane to Gladstone, V06/25

Ahoy there Shipmates! I hope you’re ready for the adventure of a lifetime! Today we start on the second leg of our Circumnavigation around Australia and we couldn’t be more excited.
It was with trepidation and excitement that the 23 Young Australians of Voyage 06/25 embarked onboard and took their first steps along the road to adventure. Their families and friends should rightly feel very proud that their loved ones stepped onboard with a smile on their face and brought a willingness to challenge themselves and expand their horizons!
After we said our farewells and goodbyes to our friends and families, we departed Dockside Marina, Brisbane and went to anchor in Moreton Bay. I must say the sunset on the Brisbane River was particularly spectacular today! Tonight we show the Youthies around their new home and start to teach them the basics of all the lines and rigging onboard. As our days progress, I have complete confidence they’ll be rolling around the deck as true Tall Ship Sailors in no time. Helping them in this task I have a truly talented group of professional mariners onboard who will not only show them the ropes, but look out for them as well:
Sail Master – Snoeksy
Navigator – Leups
Watch Officer – Bec
White Watch Leader – Sara
Red Watch Leader – Matty J
Blue Watch Leader – Simon
Engineer – Dan
2nd Engineer – James
Chef – Kingey
Follow us as we explore this beautiful stretch of the Queensland Coast and I hope to see you on the wharf in Gladstone.
