Day 10 – Deckside Pizzas, Jetty walks, and Sunset Vibes
Our day kicked off with the sounds of Sail Master Trevor’s beautiful voice for another good old wakey wakey. The Youthies hesitantly participated in a new dance routine that should have been introduced on Day One. With the last full day of the voyage now well and truly here, we knew we had to make the most of it and not waste a single moment!
After our new dance routines, a Colours ceremony set us up for the day. Then into our letter writing session where the Youthies wrote to their future selves about our experiences, take-aways and goals we’d like to achieve. This was followed by an emotional period where we addressed kind messages to each other. Then, we had our final lunch together which comprised of spicy curries and meat pies.
After our beautiful lunch made by legend Stevo, we headed to Shoal Bay to hug yet another tree. Whilst ashore we ate ice-creams, enjoyed jetty walks, and had deep chats. A perfect way to spend our final full day together!
Together Blue, White, and Red watches had their final debriefs, discussing what they took away from this adventure and how it has impacted their life for the better. After soaking up the natural beauty of mother nature, we slowly made our way back to our new home to head to our final destination, Newcastle.
A team of Youthies lay aloft on the Foremast for the very last time to furl the Topgallant and Topsail before we weighed anchor. Stevo once again cooked up a storm with a range of pizzas from Meat Lovers to Hawaiian. We enjoyed our final dinner on the deck, appreciating the last moments of our trip.
After dinner the Youthies created posters with each watch decorating a watch photo. A beautiful tradition to honour each unique voyage. Our final night concluded with a beautiful pink sunset ending the journey of a lifetime.
The Youthies have headed off to bed, preparing for their final day of the voyage tomorrow. Soon they will be ready to say their final goodbyes to the new best friends they made along the way and a ship that they called home.

Thank you Tarvi, Kaeden and Matt for your narrative of today's events. Intentions are to remain at anchor in Hunters Bay, just off HMAS Penguin, home of the RAN Diving School, a place close to my heart, having spent many a day there under training as a young Officer! The plan is to weigh anchor and proceed to HMAS Waterhen, in Waverton, to pick up our Community Day Sailors from the Windgap Foundation and take them for a sail around the harbour for 3 hours. The Youth Crew will help us host our visitors and give them an experience of Young Endeavour. We will drop them back to Waverton and then proceed to anchor in the harbour where we will have a good view of the Bridge and the Opera House for the Youth Crew's last night onboard. Until tomorrow. Yours Aye, Captain Mike
