Tangalooma Resort
Ahoy Shipmates, This morning was again unseasonably cold and it was another early start to a busy day. At 0700 the anchor was weighed and the Ship departed our anchorage at Woorim and commenced a 3 hour pilotage through the confined waters of Morton Bay to make our pre-planned rendezvous with a Police launch delivering Captain Nick Bramwell to the ship for a 2 day visit. With the Captain safely embarked, the gaskets were cast loose on the mainsail and the squares and the ship was brought under full sail. Even though the conditions were light YE still made an impressive sight on Morton Bay. On completion of a well executed tack and an alteration of course to the east, it was straight to lunch. Following lunch in was straight onto another set of very competitive rope races, which on this occasion highlighted the very high standard of rope and sail knowledge that the Youth Crew have obtained during this voyage. On completion of this exercise all sail was handed in and the ship motored to her planned anchorage at Tangalooma Resort (Morton Island). Once at anchor everyone enjoyed a refreshing swim prior to being ferried ashore to witness the evening’s dolphin feeding. At 19:30 everyone returned back onboard for dinner, which consisted of a gastronomical banquet (7 choices for mains) prepared by the brilliant Chef Chad. To finish of the evening everyone crammed into the caf to enjoy the movie Round Cape Horn, after which a very tired YC turned in for the night. From Chad – Happy Bithday Mum, thinking of you. Until tomorrow, take care.Yours AyeCaptain Gav

Thank you Tarvi, Kaeden and Matt for your narrative of today's events. Intentions are to remain at anchor in Hunters Bay, just off HMAS Penguin, home of the RAN Diving School, a place close to my heart, having spent many a day there under training as a young Officer! The plan is to weigh anchor and proceed to HMAS Waterhen, in Waverton, to pick up our Community Day Sailors from the Windgap Foundation and take them for a sail around the harbour for 3 hours. The Youth Crew will help us host our visitors and give them an experience of Young Endeavour. We will drop them back to Waverton and then proceed to anchor in the harbour where we will have a good view of the Bridge and the Opera House for the Youth Crew's last night onboard. Until tomorrow. Yours Aye, Captain Mike
