Voyages In Young Endeavour will continue in 2024 with the following measures in place.
In response to advice from government and health authorities, we have revised our COVID-19 safe voyaging measures.
This information is provided to applicants and their families so that they can make an informed decision about participation, and is current at the time of publication. Please check back for the most current advice.
Vaccinations
Youth Crew who are aged 18 years or over on the day of departure are required to have had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccination.Youth Crew will be asked to submit a copy of their immunisation history or a COVID-19 digital vaccination certificate as proof of vaccination, with their health questionnaire, four weeks prior to embarkation. It is suggested that all participants speak with their doctor or pharmacist regarding vaccinations.
Self-Declaration and Rapid Antigen Testing (RAT)
Youth Crew experiencing cold or flu-like symptoms prior to travel are asked to take a Rapid Antigen Test at home. If you return a positive test result please contact the Office on 1800 020 444, or refer to the Voyage Handbook for out of hours contact information.
All Youth Crew will be required to make a self-declaration to Staff Crew on arrival at the wharf, declaring whether they are experiencing cold or flu-like symptoms. Youth Crew displaying cold or flu-like symptoms will be asked to take a Rapid Antigen Test provided by our Staff Crew. Youth crew who return a positive result will not be able to join the voyage.
Voyage Departure and Arrival
Family and friends are now welcome to step aboard STS Young Endeavour prior to Voyage Departure and following Arrival. Please ensure that you submit a guest list through your Dashboard at least one week prior to departure. Family and friends who are feeling unwell are asked to remain on the wharf and to distance themselves from others.
