Sad Faces – Fond Farewells

The Voyage has ended for YC 16/00. There were many sad faces and fond farewells. The YC were very harmonious and they had some memorable adventures. At midships I presented Voyage Certificates to all of them and the Order of Australia Emblem to Karen Joyce, 23 of Qld., who was an extremely worthy recipient, embodying the spirit and ideals of Young Endeavour.Voyage 17 commences next Monday and we sail across Bass Strait to the Tasmanian town of Burnie. This will be the last entry for the next four days, but I would like to close with a Youth Crew entry by Andrew Davison,23, of Macmasters Beach, NSW.The last ten days have been my best experiences. Each day gets better as the YC and Staff Crew grow closer. Part of this awesome time is the challenges and hardships and overcoming them. Sailing into Eden and seeing my parents from the t’gallant was unreal. The YC are really close and it will be sad to leave them now as I write this docked at Eden wharf and everyone saying goodbye. It is very sad leaving the ship, but I’m sure the friendships we’ve made will last – friendships formed out of challenges and fun times.Speak again next weekAndrew Davis
