COMMAND DAY VOYAGE 02/05COMMAND DAY WAS A DEFINITE SUCCESS FOR ALL OF US. IMMEDIATELY AFTER ELECTIONS OUR COMMAND TEAM WENT TO WORK KEEPING US HEADED FOR THE RIP, AND WE MADE SUCH GOOD TIME THAT AN EXTRA WAYPOINT NEEDED TO BE ADDED IN ORDER TO REACH OUR DESTINATION WITHOUT EXCESSIVE TIME TO SPARE. THE STAFF CREW TOOK OVER AGAIN BRIEFLY TO GET US THROUGH THE RIP AND TO OUR ANCHOR POINT. DURING THIS TIME WE WERE ABLE TO GET OUR ENTIRE YOUTH CREW ALOFT FOR A PHOTOGRAPH – A ROUSING SIGHT TO BE SURE. WEDNESDAY MORNING SAW US GET UNDERWAY WITH FIVE SAILS UP, AND A TERIFFIC CELEBRATION FOR YA’S BIRTHDAY WAS HELD – THANKS LARGELY TO OUR CHEFS. ALSO XO KRISTY’S ORGANISATIONAL GENIUS WAS INVALUABLE FORPUTTING TOGETHER THE DAY’S SCHEDULE AND NAVIGATOR JEFF ENSURED WE MADE ALL WAYPOINTS ON TIME AND WITH INCREDIBLE PRECISION. ALL CREW AND WATCH LEADERS DID AN EXEMPLARY JOB AND MADE COMMAND DAY TRULY A DAY TO REMEMBER. Thank you Tarvi, Kaeden and Matt for your narrative of today's events. Intentions are to remain at anchor in Hunters Bay, just off HMAS Penguin, home of the RAN Diving School, a place close to my heart, having spent many a day there under training as a young Officer! The plan is to weigh anchor and proceed to HMAS Waterhen, in Waverton, to pick up our Community Day Sailors from the Windgap Foundation and take them for a sail around the harbour for 3 hours. The Youth Crew will help us host our visitors and give them an experience of Young Endeavour. We will drop them back to Waverton and then proceed to anchor in the harbour where we will have a good view of the Bridge and the Opera House for the Youth Crew's last night onboard. Until tomorrow. Yours Aye, Captain Mike
