Not far from Robe
Hi Everyone,                   Welcome to day six of our voyage. Much to relief of the Youth crew the conditions improved overnight and by sunrise we were located 80nm to the WSW of Portland motor sailing in light – moderate south westerly winds but still experiencing a moderating 3m swell.Given these improved condition we completed the normal activities of morning brief and cleaning stations then brought the ship under sail a modified sail plan and in light winds conducted a good set of demonstrational tacks. Lunch and a ‘siesta’ followed then it was straight into another round of rope races followed by an entertaining kite building/flying competition. To finish the afternoon those not on watch were given some ‘down time’ to do some washing, write in their journals or just enjoy this special time of being a sea.The time is now 2000 and we are currently located 7nm to the SSE of the town of Robe motor sailing under fore and aft sail and enjoying some pleasant conditions. Overnight all of the watches will complete the Apples & Onions Exercise as we make best speed across South Australia’s Encounter Bay with the expectation that we will anchor at Kangaroo Island early tomorrow afternoon.     Until tomorrow evening, take care. Yours AyeCaptain Gav

Thank you Tarvi, Kaeden and Matt for your narrative of today's events. Intentions are to remain at anchor in Hunters Bay, just off HMAS Penguin, home of the RAN Diving School, a place close to my heart, having spent many a day there under training as a young Officer! The plan is to weigh anchor and proceed to HMAS Waterhen, in Waverton, to pick up our Community Day Sailors from the Windgap Foundation and take them for a sail around the harbour for 3 hours. The Youth Crew will help us host our visitors and give them an experience of Young Endeavour. We will drop them back to Waverton and then proceed to anchor in the harbour where we will have a good view of the Bridge and the Opera House for the Youth Crew's last night onboard. Until tomorrow. Yours Aye, Captain Mike
