Day 04 – V17/25, Adelaide – Geelong

Welcome to the Captain’s Log for Saturday 27 September – Day 4 of Voyage 17/25, Adelaide to Geelong. Thanks go to LUCY and CAITLIN from White Watch for writing tonight’s log:

Ahoy there shipmates,

This morning we were woken to some vibey tunes as. we headed up on deck to do some laps. After this invigorating exercise we penguin huddled together for morning brief, where we were given an insight into more naval terms and their origins. Navigator Jack additionally continued his intriguing tale about the charting of the South Australian Coast and Captain Mike shared another inspiring quote of the day.

Then, we moved straight into the best part of the day; happy hour! We tried our hardest to return the ship to its clean state with the help of some bangers on the speakers to provide motivation. Following these inspections of shared spaces and personal racks, Jack took over to give us an epic lecture on Navigation- explaining how to read Coordinates and charts.

Lunch was absolutely scrumptious (as per usual) and supplied us with lots of energy- which we definitely needed for our first set of Ropies Races (rounds which White watch dominated in!) With adrenaline pumping from this competition we moved to our stations to weigh and sail away from anchor, continuing our voyage to Geelong.

We then put our skills to the test, rotating through tacking throughout the afternoon. This brought us to dinner, and after a few expulsions of the land demons we began our night watches.

Will: Sending birthday wishes to Jaden! Happy 18th!
Caitlin misses Josie and her family.
Lucy: Hi to the family! Having the Best time!

Until tomorrow evening.
Yours, aye,
Captain Mike and his able-bodied crew.
