Day 01 – V13/25, Exmouth to Fremantle

Ahoy There armchair readers and late night scrollers! We’re back for another voyage this time it’s down the West Coast of Australia. Voyage 13/25: Exmouth to Fremantle and everything in between. We had 20 Young Australians join the ship from the main wharf at Exmouth today and they are ready and raring to go!

The crew: Captain – Leups, Sailmaster – MattyJ, Navigator – Jack, Officer of the Watch – Sarah, Engineer – Mark, Red Watch Leader – Simon, White Watch Leader – Chris and Blue Watch Leader – Sam (otherwise known as the Moon Man!), Doctor Melwin and of course we have the Naughty Chefo – Kingy! It’s hard to tell whether it’s the crew or the youth crew that are more excited to be setting sail and pointing the bows South…

Exmouth has been stunning and the crew enjoyed the stop over and the hospitality of the very cool North Western locals in this part of the world. It was cool to welcome some pro fishing crew and their families from On Strike Charters – Exmouth with Captain Josh as they came onboard to share a sunset and have a chat about all things sailing and Youth Development. Lots of fun and look forward to seeing some of the Youngsters out on a voyage sooner rather than later!

This voyage promises some proper blue water sailing. Navigator Jack has his work cut out as we plot our course around low pressure systems, large swells and lining up some perfect anchorages down this coastline.

Watch this space as we will be weighing anchor early tomorrow morning and heading out of Exmouth Gulf. There’s a great atmosphere onboard as the sun is setting and we harness up to get ready for our first night climbs. This is going to be wild.

See you soon Freo!!!! We’re already looking forward to our Open Day on Saturday the 9th!! See you there!
