Open Water

Ahoy Shipmates, This morning saw everyone awake bright and early (0630) and on deck for an early morning activity (EMA). This was followed by the normal hearty YE breakfast and then colours (raise flags and sing National Anthem). Following Morning Brief the YC settled in for their first happy hour” (cleaning stations). Once the ship was spotlessly clean it was strait into some more deck safety followed by sail setting & furling drills. YE weighed anchor at 1030 and commenced the long 5 hour passage out of Morton Bay. Once in open water and under a perfect south easterly breeze we set sail and went strait to tacking stations. The Youth Crew worked exceptionally well together and completed 4 well executed tacks prior to completing the days training program. At the moment we are 10nm to the north east of Maroochydore enjoying some very pleasant sailing with all YC now settled into their watches for the night. Those not currently on watch have turned in as it is expected that everyone will be required on deck sometime throughout the night to tack Ship. From the Staff and Youth Crew of YOUNG ENDEAVOUR wishing all our Mums and Wife’s a wonderful Mothers Day. Our love
