At Anchor Twofold Bay

At Anchor Twofold Bay

Hi Everyone, Welcome to day 4 of the voyage. At 0900 this morning Young Endeavour entered Twofold Bay and came to anchor in Snug Cove just near the township of Eden. On completion of morning brief and cleaning stations (Happy Hour) the Navigator mustered the Youth Crew at midships and gave an informative presentation on navigation which was followed by lunch. At 1230 the Youth Crew were ferried ashore with their respective Watch Leaders for a tour of the very interesting Eden Whale Museum, which the curator generously provides to the crew of Young Endeavour free of charge. On completion of this tour the Youth Crew were released on the township of Eden were they took the opportunity to have a fast food fix’, enjoy a good leg stretch and for the brave, enjoy a swim. Everyone was back onboard by 1600 and due to the southerly easterly change the anchor was weighed and we transited across to the southern side of the bay to East Boyd Bay, which provides a good sheltered anchorage in southerly conditions. Due to the inclement weather this evening (day 3 of torrential rain) we had to cancel the programmed Teak Deck BBQ and cook everything in the galley. Once we had cleaned up from dinner we held a humorous and entertaining session of three way talks (public speaking and getting to know you exercise), which due to the poor weather had to be conducted in the Ships Cafe. To finish of the evening the navigator gave a quick presentation on anchor watches before everyone turned in for a good nights rest. Tomorrow morning we will weigh anchor, depart Twofold Bay and continue our passage south. The forecast is for strong south easterlies over the next 24hrs, so until we round Cape Howe we may be a bit of a rough ride. From the Staff and Youth Crew of Young Endeavour to all of our loved ones \Happy Valentines Day\”Until tomorrow
