Ahoy there everyone,
A well deserved nights rest at anchor was had by all. I guarantee everyone onboard slept very soundly and for good reason, most were exhausted from Command Day. The ship weighed anchor at 0815 and conducted a short transit to Cunningham Pier where the ship anchored adjacent the jetty and embarked our half day sail guests from Encompass Youth services via sea boat. With all guests onboard the ship once again weighed anchor and conducted a sail around the foreshore of Corio Bay experiencing significant changes in weather conditions during the three hours.

At 1300 the ship berthed alongside Cunningham Pier where we farewelled our guests. The Youth Crew then proceeded ashore for end of voyage talks before returning to the ship to climb aloft and place the last sea furls in the sails. Once back on deck all line were cast and the ship returned to the morning anchorage position adjacent the Geelong Baths.

Once safely secure the Youth Crew cooked and consumed a teak deck BBQ for dinner. This culminated with the Youth Crew presenting a slide show, capturing various selected moments and experiences during the voyage. This gave everyone the opportunity to reflect on the past 10 days and their amazing once in a life time journey. The remainder of the evening was spent completing end of voyage questionnaires and letters to themselves, which are returned to each Youth Crew member six months after voyage completion.

The ship will remain at anchor overnight until tomorrow morning when we will climb aloft and man the yards with our accomplished young adventurers for a 1000 final berthing and farewell to the Youth Crew.

Until then it has been an honour and privilege to sail with the Youth and Staff Crew of Voyage 02/11. I wish them all the best for their future endeavours.

Carpe Diem

Yours aye

Captain Damien
