Ahoy Shipmates

Throughout last night the conditions remained unpleasant and many of the YC suffered from seasickness. This morning saw the weather improve and so did the health of the YC. After morning brief it was straight into Happy Hour (cleaning stations), followed by more setting and furling drills. Early afternoon had YE only five miles west of Deal Island, so prior to proceeding to anchor we took the opportunity to complete a good set of tacking drills which due to the bad weather was the first set of tacks conducted by this YC since the commencement of the voyage. On completion we handed in all sail and proceeded to anchor in the picturesque East Cove at Deal Island. During the afternoon all of the YC were ferried ashore, some took the opportunity to complete the two hour walk to the historic lighthouse and others opted to stay on the beach and swim in the crystal clear water. Once everyone was back onboard it was time for dinner and once again the Chef Chad had prepared one of his gastronomical feasts, which the YC with their appetites freshly regained, quickly devoured. After dinner Sumo (the Engineer) conducted the first set of twilight rope races which was followed by the Navigator's scientific lesson on navigation. After a long, busy and most enjoyable day the YC have now settled into anchor watches for the night and a good night's sleep.
