Anchorage at Broughton
After a pleasant night at sea motor sailing northwards, we anchored at Broughton Island at 0900. In the absence of any real wind it was decided to anchor and put the the youth crew ashore for 3 hrs while we waited for the forecast moderate northerly winds to arrive. After morning brief, ‘Happy Hour’ (cleaning stations), a navigation brief from Harry and lunch we put the crew ashore via the seaboat. They had the choice of exploring walking tracks, swimming, or chilling on the beach. Super Carly ran some organised beach games for everyone, just before everyone returned onboard. At 1615 we held Round 1 of ‘Rope Races’, a (competitive) non-competitive ship knowledge consolidation tool, during which a member of each watch. Sailmaster Adam hen gave the Square sail brief, before we had dinner. We weighed anchor at 1915 and proceeded to sea, setting square sails to run downwind overnight towards our next intended anchorage at Patonga in Broken Bay.Until tomorrow. Yours aye, Captain Mike

Thank you Tarvi, Kaeden and Matt for your narrative of today's events. Intentions are to remain at anchor in Hunters Bay, just off HMAS Penguin, home of the RAN Diving School, a place close to my heart, having spent many a day there under training as a young Officer! The plan is to weigh anchor and proceed to HMAS Waterhen, in Waverton, to pick up our Community Day Sailors from the Windgap Foundation and take them for a sail around the harbour for 3 hours. The Youth Crew will help us host our visitors and give them an experience of Young Endeavour. We will drop them back to Waverton and then proceed to anchor in the harbour where we will have a good view of the Bridge and the Opera House for the Youth Crew's last night onboard. Until tomorrow. Yours Aye, Captain Mike
