A log before Christmas
Ahoy there Shipmates, Guv woke the crew with another of his favourite tunes and then it was into a quick EMA on deck, shower, breaky and then pack our bags. It’s the last day of the voyage! After the final Morning Brief and Happy Hour for the Voyage, Young Endeavour departed our anchorage at 0900 and the Youth Crew layed aloft in the old Naval tradition of ‘Manning the Yards’ for the formal arrival. After a lap under the Harbour Bridge and firing one of our saluting cannon, we berthed at the Fleet Base at 1000 in front of family and friends. Following a brief ceremony we said our final farewells to the Youth Crew of Voyage 17/17. It has been a magnificent journey and one not to be forgotten. I hope you have enjoyed sharing the adventures of this voyage through my Captain’s Log over the last eleven days as much as I have enjoyed writing about them. The ship will sail again on 26 Dec 17 to support the 2017 CYCA Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race in a Communications Support Role..Yours Aye Captain Mike

Thank you Tarvi, Kaeden and Matt for your narrative of today's events. Intentions are to remain at anchor in Hunters Bay, just off HMAS Penguin, home of the RAN Diving School, a place close to my heart, having spent many a day there under training as a young Officer! The plan is to weigh anchor and proceed to HMAS Waterhen, in Waverton, to pick up our Community Day Sailors from the Windgap Foundation and take them for a sail around the harbour for 3 hours. The Youth Crew will help us host our visitors and give them an experience of Young Endeavour. We will drop them back to Waverton and then proceed to anchor in the harbour where we will have a good view of the Bridge and the Opera House for the Youth Crew's last night onboard. Until tomorrow. Yours Aye, Captain Mike
