At Anchor Trial Bay
Hi Everyone, Sunrise this morning found YOUNG ENDEAVOUR 20nm to the south east of Trial Bay making good speed under main engines. Just prior to morning brief the wind strengthened from the north west and the watch on’ brought the ship under a full press of fore and aft sails and shut down engines. Following morning brief and a very good set of cleaning stations (happy hour), Lindsey the Engineer conducted the second round of the very hotly contested rope races. On completion of this activity all sail was handed in and we entered the very scenic Trial Bay, coming safely to anchor at 1130. Following lunch the Youth Crew were ferried ashore where they enjoyed setting foot on terra firma for the first time since departing Sydney. While ashore they were given a guided tour of the historic Trial Bay Jail followed by the opportunity to play beach sports, have a walk along the many scenic tracks or enjoy a beach swim. This evening with everyone safely back onboard we enjoyed our first Teak Deck BBQ for the voyage (cooked by yours truly) followed by a very entertaining set of three way talks (communication and public speaking exercise), which completed the days activities. As this is our first night at anchor since departing Sydney, all watches have now been reduced to anchor watches for the night allowing both YC and staff the opportunity to get a good nights sleep, ensuring that everyone will be well rested for the busy days ahead.Until tomorrow take care.Yours AyeCaptain Gav

Thank you Tarvi, Kaeden and Matt for your narrative of today's events. Intentions are to remain at anchor in Hunters Bay, just off HMAS Penguin, home of the RAN Diving School, a place close to my heart, having spent many a day there under training as a young Officer! The plan is to weigh anchor and proceed to HMAS Waterhen, in Waverton, to pick up our Community Day Sailors from the Windgap Foundation and take them for a sail around the harbour for 3 hours. The Youth Crew will help us host our visitors and give them an experience of Young Endeavour. We will drop them back to Waverton and then proceed to anchor in the harbour where we will have a good view of the Bridge and the Opera House for the Youth Crew's last night onboard. Until tomorrow. Yours Aye, Captain Mike
