At Anchor Broken Bay

Hi Everyone, By 0900 this morning we were located 5nm to the South East of Broken Bay still motor sailing due to the very light conditions. Following morning brief I conducted Captains Setting and Furling Drills. These drills are designed so that I can evaluate each Watch in their ability to safely set and furl sails in preparation for Command Day. With these drills successfully completed all sail was handed in and we proceeded into Broken Bay coming safely to anchor just of the township of Patonga at 1115. Following lunch the Youth Crew were ferried ashore where they were given the opportunity to play some sport or complete the very scenic walk to the Brisbane Park Lookout. On their return to the ship I conducted my Command Day brief which was followed by another enjoyable teak deck BBQ’. On completion of dinner the Youth Crew held their Command Team elections then to finish the evening everyone made themselves comfortable on deck and enjoyed the Young Endeavour Outdoor Cinema screening of the classic film Around Cape Horn’. Following the screening of this movie and after a very busy day the Youth Crew will settle into their anchor watches for the night and hopefully get a good nights rest in preparation for tomorrow’s commencement of Command Day.Until tomorrow, take care.Yours AyeCaptain Gav
