Voyage 02A Underway

Today saw the commencement of Voyage 02A/08 the third voyage for YOUNG ENDEAVOUR in 2008 and our 20th Anniversary Year. All new Youth Crew arrived safely onboard and after Crew introductions and safety briefs Young Endeavour was farewelled from her berth at Fleet Base East Berth 5A in Sydney by family and friends and proceeded to Anchor in Rose Bay. Following ice breakers” and Ships familiarisation tours we all sat down to one of Simon’s famous dinners. This evening saw all of the Youth Crew achieve climbing to the Topgallant Yard (highest yard) and enjoy the spectacular sights of Sydney Harbour. Tomorrow morning will see us complete sail setting and furling drills prior to departing Sydney Harbour for open water. Predicted winds are currently from the north so our current intentions are to head south and explore the picturesque NSW South Coast. Yours AyeCaptain Gav “””
