Day 10 – V07/25, Gladstone to Cairns

For the final time from the Youthies of V07/25, Ahoy there!
Today was full of new friends, reflection and a bit of adventure, starting with the Community Day Sail. We may not have made it off the docks but we still had fun and learnt a thing or two. A few brave volunteers from NIDP and STARS took on the challenge of the foremast and showed our crew how it was done. Learning the ropes and stepping in our shoes, we got to share the magic that comes with the Young Endeavour.
As a last hurrah the Youthies scaled the foremast and harbour furled the sails, preparing the ship for a few days of rest. The remaining afternoon was spent celebrating with:
– Pizza
– Games (Rope Races, Up the Reddies!!!!)
– Tears, thanks to Sylvies wonderful slideshow
Although we will all be sad to leave the ship tomorrow, we can’t contain our excitement at coming home and reuniting with the land. See you soon family and friends
