PAST 24 HOURSCOFFS HARBOUR PROVIDED A WONDERFULL OPPORTUNITY FOR EVERYONE TO ENJOY A BREAK ASHORE PLAYING BEACH SPORTS AND EXPLORING THE LOCAL TOWNSHIP. THE BOAT HARBOUR PROVIDED THE NECESSARY PROTECTION FROMTHE SW’LY BREEZ. AT SUNSET A TEAK BBQ WAS PREPARED BY OUR CHEF ‘SPEEDY’ AND COOKED BY ‘CHRIS’, OUR NEWEST MEMBER OF THE STAFF CREW WHO’S SKILLS WERE GRATEFULLY APPRECIATED. THREE WAY TALKS KEEP EVERYONE ENTERTAINED AS YOUTH CREW SPOKE ON BEHALF OF A FELLOW SHIPMATE. TO KEEP THE SHIP SAFE OVERNIGHT EVERYONE KEPT AN HOURLY ANCHOR WATCH KEEPING A SHARP LOOKOUT AND CONDUCTING ROUNDS.AT O800 THE TIME HONOURED TRADITION OF COLOURS WHERE THE NATIONAL ANTHEM IS SANG AS THE ENSIGN AND AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL FLAG AREHOISTED. STRAIGHT AFTER IT WAS HANDS TO ‘HAPPY HOUR’TO CLEAN THE SHIP BEFORE WEIGHING ANCHOR AND MOTOR SAILING NORTH. ALL WELL AND RECOVERED FROM SEA SICKNESS.YOUTH CREW IMPRESSIONSMEGAN, DALBYAM HAVING THE TIME OF MY LIFE, THIS HAS DEFINATELY BEEN A WORTHWHILE TRIP. THE OTHER YOUTH CREW MEMBERS ARE ALL AMAZING PEOPLE, AND HAVE MADE THIS TRIP ALL THE BETTER. A QUICK HELLO TO MUM, DAD, DREW ANDG’MA. THIS VOYAGE HAS BEEN ABSOLUTLY AWESOME. I’VE SEEN DOLPHINS AND A WHALE, AND I’VE ONLY BEEN OUT HERE 4 DAYS. I CLIMBED TO THE TOPGALLANT YARD, WHICH IS ABOUT 30 METRES OFF THE DECK, THATS SOMETHING I’D NEVER DREAM OF DOING. Thank you Tarvi, Kaeden and Matt for your narrative of today's events. Intentions are to remain at anchor in Hunters Bay, just off HMAS Penguin, home of the RAN Diving School, a place close to my heart, having spent many a day there under training as a young Officer! The plan is to weigh anchor and proceed to HMAS Waterhen, in Waverton, to pick up our Community Day Sailors from the Windgap Foundation and take them for a sail around the harbour for 3 hours. The Youth Crew will help us host our visitors and give them an experience of Young Endeavour. We will drop them back to Waverton and then proceed to anchor in the harbour where we will have a good view of the Bridge and the Opera House for the Youth Crew's last night onboard. Until tomorrow.
