Sea to Zoe Bay Anchorage to Sea

Hey Nicholas and Felicity here, writing to you from 18 23.7S 146 20.1E White watch started before daybreak with the 3am clewing of the topgallant and topsail (generally being amazing with watch leader Dan). Blue Watch also had their overnight fun by being tasked with setting the Main Gaff Topsail, helped only by a rather dodgy instruction booklet and some sneaky assistance from watch leader Reggie. Just a friendly add on of White Watch winners being well… winners… is that White Watch prepared for command day by working as a team, with only three allowed questions to ask Dan and Senator Dave Fawcett (who was benched due to pre-existing knowledge). After a brief breakfast we anchored just off Zoe Bay on Hichinbrook Island and using the seaboat we set off on our land adventure for the day. We then hiked up to the top of Zoe Falls, where the many deep waterholes and curious freshwater fish provided a much needed R&R session. After our walk back down and some fig bowling we departed back to STS Young Endeavour for another session of Happy Hour (musical cleaning) and some watch group discussions. Many rounds of Ninja later, dinner was served courtesy of Adam, Emma, and Jemma’s BBQing and salad making skills (not taking away from Jemma’s amazing navigation skills). —————————- Thanks Nicholas and Felicity for your interesting take on today’s events. The plan is for us to transit north overnight. 10 Knot South Easterlies were forecast but on departing our Zoe Bay anchorage there is no wind, so we are currently motoring northwards towards Mission Beach, our next stop tomorrow. Until tomorrow, Yours Aye, Captain Mike
