PAST 24 HOURSANCHORED OFF FRASER ISLAND AT THE LAGOON ANCHORAGE. ALL YOUTH CREW WENT ASHORE FOR AN OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN BEACH SPORTS, ENJOY THE REFRESHING WATERS AND AFTER WARDS JUST RELAXING ON THIS FABULOUS WILDERNESS BEACH. AFTER A SHORT BOAT TRANSFER ONBOARD EVERYONE ENJOYED YOUNG ENDEAVOUR’S FABULOUS ‘TEAK DECK BBQ’. SOON AFTER THREEWAY TALKS WERE HELD AMIDSHIPS. THIS IS WHERE YOUTH CREW ARE INTRODUCED TO OTHER MEMBERS IN GROUPS OF THREE TO FURTHER INHANCE OUT OF WATCH INTERACTION AND THEIR PUBLIC SPEAKING SKILLS WHILST IN AFRIENDLY AND RECEPTIVE ENVIRONMENT. THE SHIP’S NAVIGATOR PRESENTED THE ANCHOR WATCH BRIEF AND ON COMPLETION ANCHOR WATCHES CLOSED UP OVERNIGHT. AFTER MORNING BRIEF THE SHIP SAILED AWAY FROM THE ANCHORAGE AND RAN SQUARE MAKING EXCELLENT GROUND TO THE NW. THE SECOND IN A SERIES OF SAIL THEORY TALKS WAS PRESENTED JUSTAFTER ROUND TWO OF ROPE RACES. EVERYONE WELL.YOUTH CREW IMPRESSIONSLU, ACT, IT’S AMAZING JUST HOW FAST THE TIME GOES ON THE BOAT. THEVIEW OF FRASER ISLAND FROM THE TOPGALLANT YARD 30M ABOVE THE SHIP WAS STUNNING THIS MORNING. WHITE SAND, BLUE SEA, BIG BOAT – LOVELY. Thank you Tarvi, Kaeden and Matt for your narrative of today's events. Intentions are to remain at anchor in Hunters Bay, just off HMAS Penguin, home of the RAN Diving School, a place close to my heart, having spent many a day there under training as a young Officer! The plan is to weigh anchor and proceed to HMAS Waterhen, in Waverton, to pick up our Community Day Sailors from the Windgap Foundation and take them for a sail around the harbour for 3 hours. The Youth Crew will help us host our visitors and give them an experience of Young Endeavour. We will drop them back to Waverton and then proceed to anchor in the harbour where we will have a good view of the Bridge and the Opera House for the Youth Crew's last night onboard. Until tomorrow.
