Missing you all for Valentines Day

G’day Ship Mates,Overnight we managed to remain under sail making reasonable ground to the North but during the morning watch the light southerly breeze deserted us and the engines were started to help us along. Throughout the day we have had to motor sail due to the light and variable conditions which I’m never totally happy about but that’s life in a tall ship when you have a schedule to keep. None the less, the day remained full with the Youth Crew kept busy as they continue to climb the ever steep learning curve. Master Navigator Dave Jordan had the YC spell bound learning his trade and the charismatic White Watch Leader Taffy led the crew is some fun deck games. Even Lindsay the ship’s engineer was tempted from his rack to run a fun set of rope races. And finally during the dog watches, Mother Nature pitched in with a large pod of frolicking dolphins to keep the YC entertained. Lots of ���ooh ahhs’ there.This evening we remain motor sailing and will commence our crossing of Bass Strait later tonight. For a notorious piece of water it appears we’re in for a smooth passage (touching wood). A bonus of the smoother seas is that the YC have found their sea legs and sea sickness is behind them with only one still suffering. I’m sure she’ll be fine tomorrow.
