Merry Christmas from YE Family
Hello shipmatesRecently we had to cancel two Voyages – V17/01 & V18/01. The reason for this was that we are serious about safety on board Young Endeavour. During the maintenance period we have been monitoring issues regarding safety of youth crew at sea, and unfortunately we were not convinced that the issues had been totally resolved. However we are confident that we will conduct our first Voyage for 2002 in January as planned. We are disappointed not to be back out there sailing before XMAS but on the up side we have also used this time to make the ship look pristine at Garden Island in Sydney. We’ve also had a few crew changeovers and by January we will have farewelled the old salts Donny, Matt, Sal, Damo and Pauly. For all the Youth Crew who are scheduled for Voyages next year, we look forward to seeing you onboard real soon. To all ex-Youth Crew and Returnees please feel welcome to come and see us when we drop into your port.Until then, may you learn from all your challenges and Merry Christmas from our family to yours!Yours ayeAndrew Davis

Thank you Tarvi, Kaeden and Matt for your narrative of today's events. Intentions are to remain at anchor in Hunters Bay, just off HMAS Penguin, home of the RAN Diving School, a place close to my heart, having spent many a day there under training as a young Officer! The plan is to weigh anchor and proceed to HMAS Waterhen, in Waverton, to pick up our Community Day Sailors from the Windgap Foundation and take them for a sail around the harbour for 3 hours. The Youth Crew will help us host our visitors and give them an experience of Young Endeavour. We will drop them back to Waverton and then proceed to anchor in the harbour where we will have a good view of the Bridge and the Opera House for the Youth Crew's last night onboard. Until tomorrow. Yours Aye, Captain Mike
