HORSESHOE BAY
Good evening shipmates, it is Captain Andrew ‘Gunna’ Rourke here enticed out of retirement for another voyage. It didn’t take much enticing by the way. All the Youth Crew arrived by mini bus by 1500 and after a quick introduction to the crew and a farewell to the family and frinds who came down to say Bon voyage, Young Endeavour was soon backing out of the berth and ready to commence the next voyage of excitement. The ship motorsailed out into Cleveland Bay and after a couple of hours anchored in the pretty Horseshoe Bay at Magnetic Island. The YC were kept busy and some were already feeling a little queezy in the choppy seas. Even once we anchored the rolling motion affected some. Nonetheless the training goes on and after I had a chat with them about my expectations we commenced climbing and I’m pleased to report that thus far they have done very well. Hopefully a night asleep at anchor will cure those still feeling a bit crook. We have a big day tomorrow. Chat tomorrow. Captain Gunna Carpe diem

Thank you Tarvi, Kaeden and Matt for your narrative of today's events. Intentions are to remain at anchor in Hunters Bay, just off HMAS Penguin, home of the RAN Diving School, a place close to my heart, having spent many a day there under training as a young Officer! The plan is to weigh anchor and proceed to HMAS Waterhen, in Waverton, to pick up our Community Day Sailors from the Windgap Foundation and take them for a sail around the harbour for 3 hours. The Youth Crew will help us host our visitors and give them an experience of Young Endeavour. We will drop them back to Waverton and then proceed to anchor in the harbour where we will have a good view of the Bridge and the Opera House for the Youth Crew's last night onboard. Until tomorrow. Yours Aye, Captain Mike
