Set sail for the voyage of a lifetime aboard the national Sail Training Ship Young Endeavour!!
A voyage in Young Endeavour is a unique experience, and one which develops skills for life. You'll spend eleven days with 23 other young Aussies aged 16 - 23 years, learning not only how to sail the ship, but how to work together as a team. You also get to see spectacular parts of Australia.
You don't need to be a sailor - most youth crew have never sailed before. During your voyage our Royal Australian Navy crew will teach you everything you need to know to sail a 44 metre square-rigged brigantine on the open sea. They also ensure the highest standards of safety and care during every voyage.
Each voyage in Young Endeavour is different, but some things stay the same. Everyone learns to set and furl sails, keep watch, navigate using the ship's charts, climb the mast and take the helm. You'll take part in games and team building exercises, go on shore visits, cook in the ship's galley, and even take command! Depending on the weather there are also opportunities to go swimming, play sports, visit islands and National Parks, spot whales and dolphins, and of course meet amazing people from all around the country.
A voyage in Young Endeavour is not a leisurely cruise. It’s challenging and exhilarating. With your sense of adventure and willingness to push your self to the limit, this is your chance to discover new reserves of character, commitment, confidence, teamwork and leadership!
