Fitzroy Island

Ahoy Shipmates, YOUNG ENDEAVOUR came to anchor at Fitzroy Island at 2300 last night and immediately reverted to anchor watches for the rest of the night so that everyone could enjoy a well deserved good night’s sleep. Following morning brief and happy hour the Watch leaders conducted the Apples and Onions’ exercise (realistic judgement exercise) followed by another hotly contested session of rope races. This afternoon the YC were ferried ashore to Fitzroy Island to visit the local resort and enjoy the fine tropical weather, great beach (complete with floating trampoline) and scenic rain forest walks. This evening they were briefed on the purpose and aims of Command Day and held elections to determine which of them would serve in leadership positions. Being at anchor tonight provides the YC with the opportunity to develop plans on how they hope to achieve the mission that they have been assigned as well as the chance to catch up on some much needed rest prior to what will prove to be a very demanding and tiring 24 hours.Yours AyeCaptain Gav
