Final Night Of Voyage 06/08
Ahoy Shipmates, After morning brief this morning the YC conducted a quick happy half hour at 0730 in preparation for our guests for the half day sail. The anchor was weighed at 0745 and the ship made the passage to Bundaberg Marina where she berthed port side to No 2 Berth at 0910. After sullage was landed and stores embarked 30 guests from Youth Services Bundaberg and some Staff Crew guests were welcomed onboard. Lines were cast off at 1015 and the ship commenced a very pleasant 3 hour voyage out into Harvey Bay. Throughout the voyage the YC with the assistance of our guests set and furled sails and conducted some impressive tacking drills. On completion it was time to hand in all sail and begin our passage back to our berth, where we arrived at 1300. Once we farewelled our guests, stores for the next voyage were embarked and harbour furls completed. This evening we enjoyed the last BBQ for this voyage followed by a very entertaining ship’s concert. The YC will spend the rest of the evening completing end of voyage questionnaires and letters to themselves, which are returned to each YC member six months after voyage completion. Tomorrow will see the completion of Voyage 06-08 when we berth at the Bundaberg Marina at 1000. I think that everyone onboard YOUNG ENDEAVOUR would agree that this has been another successful voyage with both Youth Crew and Staff enjoying themselves immensely.Until the start of our next voyage, take careYours AyeCaptain Gav

Thank you Tarvi, Kaeden and Matt for your narrative of today's events. Intentions are to remain at anchor in Hunters Bay, just off HMAS Penguin, home of the RAN Diving School, a place close to my heart, having spent many a day there under training as a young Officer! The plan is to weigh anchor and proceed to HMAS Waterhen, in Waverton, to pick up our Community Day Sailors from the Windgap Foundation and take them for a sail around the harbour for 3 hours. The Youth Crew will help us host our visitors and give them an experience of Young Endeavour. We will drop them back to Waverton and then proceed to anchor in the harbour where we will have a good view of the Bridge and the Opera House for the Youth Crew's last night onboard. Until tomorrow. Yours Aye, Captain Mike
