Final Day of the Voyage
Sail Master Evan woke us with an Abba medley played over the main broadcast after the Youthies final night onboard. After a quick early morning activity it was into showers and breakfast before the final morning brief at which we sang happy birthday to Teri Roberson who turned 17 today. The Youthies then launched into their last Happy Hour while the Staffies weighed the anchor and commenced the transit to our berth in Snug Cove.As we approached the wharf we saw a group of Teri’s friends and family holding up a welcome sign.Once we had the Ship secured alongside and the gangway in place we invited friends and family onboard to attend the final farewell speeches and certificate presentation. A Young Endeavour Order of Australia Medallion was awarded by the staff crew, on behalf of the NSW branch of the Order of Australia Association and the recipient was Alice Hartley. At 1100 we farewelled the youth crew of V 06/17 and the Staffies commenced preparations for V 07/17 to Sydney commencing Mon 27 Mar. The Ship will be open to the public on Sat 25 Mar between 1300 and 1600.Farewell to families and friends who have followed the progress of the voyage. It has been my pleasure to share it with you.Yours Aye, Captain Mike

Thank you Tarvi, Kaeden and Matt for your narrative of today's events. Intentions are to remain at anchor in Hunters Bay, just off HMAS Penguin, home of the RAN Diving School, a place close to my heart, having spent many a day there under training as a young Officer! The plan is to weigh anchor and proceed to HMAS Waterhen, in Waverton, to pick up our Community Day Sailors from the Windgap Foundation and take them for a sail around the harbour for 3 hours. The Youth Crew will help us host our visitors and give them an experience of Young Endeavour. We will drop them back to Waverton and then proceed to anchor in the harbour where we will have a good view of the Bridge and the Opera House for the Youth Crew's last night onboard. Until tomorrow. Yours Aye, Captain Mike
