Day Twelve – Final Night of Voyage

 　Hi Everyone,Welcome to Day Twelve and the final night of our voyage. The Crew were awoken at 0630 for an Early Morning Activity which was followed by another one of Chef Jenko’s amazing breakfasts.　At 0715 we weighed anchor then transited the 14nm over to Gove Harbour where we anchored just off the Gove Yacht Club at 0905. Once at anchor we launched the Ships RHIB (Boat) which proceeded inshore to commence ferrying our Community Day Sail guests out to the ship. By 1000 everyone was onboard so following my welcome address and safety brief we weighed anchor then proceeded out into Gove Harbour where we set sail and enjoyed a pleasant sail around this large harbour. During this period the Youth Crew acted as perfect hosts giving ship tours and telling our guests all about their voyage. At 1230 we conducted our final tack then handed in all sail then made our way back to our anchorage at the Gove Yacht Club coming safely to anchor at 1305.Once safely at anchor we farewelled our guests then the Youth Crew proceeded aloft to put harbour furls on the squares. With this task complete we again weighed anchor then transited the short distance over to the Gove Fuel Wharf where we berthed at 1505. Once alongside we off loaded garbage, topped up fresh water and embarked dry and frozen provisions for our next voyage. With these tasks complete we departed our berth and proceeded back out to our Gove Yacht Club anchorage where the Youth Crew completed end of voyage chats. 　This evening we enjoyed a pizza dinner served up on deck which was followed by the end of voyage slide show. Once finished I took the opportunity to conducted a brief ceremony and present each of the Youth Crew with a Certificate of Achievement as this will not be possible tomorrow morning due to some of the Youth Crew having to depart the ship early to catch their flights out of Gove.To complete the tonight’s activities the Youth Crew have just mustered in the café where they will complete end of voyage critiques and letters to themselves which are returned to them six months after voyage completion. Whist this is occurring the Staff Crew will sit down and finish their end of voyage administration requirements.  Tomorrow morning we will start our day with our final early morning activity followed by breakfast and morning brief. Once these activities are complete we will say our final emotional farewell to the Youth Crew of Voyage 13/16 then ferry them ashore for the final time for this voyage  On a personal note, I would like to thank all of the Youth Crew of Voyage 13/16 for the effort that you have put in throughout this voyage and wish you all the very best for the future. Young Endeavour will now have a short break in Gove before embarking our next Youth Crew on Monday 22nd August and sailing for Darwin which will be our eight voyage of our 2016 Circumnavigation of Australia.  Until Next Voyage, take care.Yours AyeCaptain Gav
