Day Six – Quick Visit to Eden
Hi Everyone, Welcome to day six of our voyage. By sunrise this morning we were located 30nm to the south east of Green Cape still motor sailing in very light conditions. At 1045 we entered the beautiful Twofold Bay coming safely to anchor just to the south west of the Eden Breakwater at 1100. Once at anchor we ferried all of the Youth Crew ashore where they conducted mid voyage chats with their respective Watch Leaders then got to go and have a tour of the Eden Whale Museum who for many years have been great supporters of Young Endeavour and continue to give the Youth Crew and Staff free entry to this wonderful museum. By 1630 everyone was back onboard and following another great dinner we weighed anchor, departed Twofold Bay and are now continuing our passage north along NSW South Coast. Kindly volunteering to write an entry in tonight’s Captains Log is Isabella, Will & Karleigha, please enjoy! Until tomorrow, take care Yours Aye Captain Gav Shout Out: To Sarah, our thoughts and best wishes for a speedy recovery from your operation from the Staff and Youth Crew of Young Endeavour. Captains log – 12 Mar 16 Hello everyone, We had a clear night last night with light winds and just enough swell to have us rolling around in our bunks. We were joined on our watch overnight by a couple of dolphins sporting bioluminescent trails. Morning saw an entertaining brief and a continuation of sail theory from our esteemed captain. We made anchor around 1100 hours at Eden, allowing the crew some time ashore to the relief of some unsettled stomachs. A visit to the town’s whale museum and a chance to stock up on confectionery provisions, were just some of the highlights. We set sail again at 1900 to calm seas, but with rain clouds looming on the horizon. It should be an interesting overnight transit to Jervis Bay. Isabella, Will & Karleigha

Thank you Tarvi, Kaeden and Matt for your narrative of today's events. Intentions are to remain at anchor in Hunters Bay, just off HMAS Penguin, home of the RAN Diving School, a place close to my heart, having spent many a day there under training as a young Officer! The plan is to weigh anchor and proceed to HMAS Waterhen, in Waverton, to pick up our Community Day Sailors from the Windgap Foundation and take them for a sail around the harbour for 3 hours. The Youth Crew will help us host our visitors and give them an experience of Young Endeavour. We will drop them back to Waverton and then proceed to anchor in the harbour where we will have a good view of the Bridge and the Opera House for the Youth Crew's last night onboard. Until tomorrow. Yours Aye, Captain Mike
