Day 10 – Newcastle and a Fond Farewell!

Ahoy shipmates…Cap K back on deck for the last night. As usual, another busy day during which we transited from Nelson Bay to Newcastle. I won’t go into further details as Aylish and Lily have covered it below. Suffice to say, it has been another cracking voyage…Sydney Harbour, Jervis Bay, Broken Bay and Nelson Bay…hikes, rope swing, beaches and some awesome sailing (although at times we either had too much wind, or not enough…C’est la vie). As always, it has been an absolute pleasure have this adventurous bunch of young Australians onboard…they are now part of the Young Endeavour family. My crew and I wish them all the best for their future endeavours. That’s it from me for Voyage 04/21. I wish you all fair winds and following seas…Captain Kenny…out!———–
‘Ello there Matey, after our land time yesterday , we returned to our beloved ship and had a teak deck BBQ made by our world class chef, Kiki-De. After the BBQ we had a fun game planned by the staffies called spider-web, the aim of the game was to get everyone through the “web”. After many attempts we were victorious!
A new day dawned and with it another crackling wake-up alarm of DON’T GO BREAKING MY HEART. Subsequent to our walking laps around the ship, we played a wonderful game called evolution which heavily involved a game of scissors, paper, rock with few reaching the top tier of Beyoncé. Following another exquisite brekky meal from Sisi-Keels, we set sail for Newie (*turned on the engines and sat back and relaxed*). As we were sailing we encountered many sea life guests including DOLPHINS, BIRDS and FLYING FISH, with a few supposed sightings of whales *sure sure Rio and Jordo*. To pass the time we climbed to the top of the main mast! As well as sitting on the bowsprit, we finished off the tasks from yesterday’s Command Day (slide show/poem). Finally reaching the heads of Newie, we waited for Pisces (big ship) to exit and then we made our way alongside. A trip ashore for some End Of Voyage chats and brews before coming back at 1600. We then all lay aloft on the foremast to harbour furl the square sails. After some hard yakka on the topgallant, we had our final dinner of the voyage. PIZZAAAAAA!!!!!
Now as we write our final log, *sob*, we are preparing for an extravaganza (ship’s concert) that will conclude our voyage. 
As a summary to summaries, this voyage was a remarkable once in a lifetime experience which we will never forget. From the humorous morning briefs and ever supportive staffies, to the INCREDIBLE meals and experiences which will never compare to any other, we as a crew have grown very close and are miserable to see the book close. This voyage really expanded our horizons on our own abilities as well as capabilities, and we have all definitely changed and grown for the better.
Thankyou staffies.
Thankyou Ocean.
Thankyou Young Endeavour.
