Day 1 – Straight to Sea and the Dreaded Green Goblin!
Ahoy shipmates…welcome to Voyage 3/19. Our intrepid adventurers joined us this afternnon at 1500 and after a quick re-famil and tours for guests, we all gathered at midships for the formal welcome, or should I say, welcome back! Our 24 Youth Crew are all returnees and it was good to see some familiar faces. With everyone onboard, we cast off lines and slowly made our way out of Sydney Harbour. We would normally go to anchor on the first night but noting we have a long way to go, and a short time to get there, we put to sea. It would seem that a number of our crew have lost their sea legs and the dreaded ‘green goblin’ has made an early appearance! After a safety brief, quick intros and a delicious dinner from Chef Jenko (who is a bit green himself) we have settled into overnight watches. The easterly change has kicked in early and we should be able to increase our sail plan as it continues around to the north. Hobart here we come. That’s it for now…until tomorrow, fair winds….Captain Kenny

Thank you Tarvi, Kaeden and Matt for your narrative of today's events. Intentions are to remain at anchor in Hunters Bay, just off HMAS Penguin, home of the RAN Diving School, a place close to my heart, having spent many a day there under training as a young Officer! The plan is to weigh anchor and proceed to HMAS Waterhen, in Waverton, to pick up our Community Day Sailors from the Windgap Foundation and take them for a sail around the harbour for 3 hours. The Youth Crew will help us host our visitors and give them an experience of Young Endeavour. We will drop them back to Waverton and then proceed to anchor in the harbour where we will have a good view of the Bridge and the Opera House for the Youth Crew's last night onboard. Until tomorrow. Yours Aye, Captain Mike
