Day 04 – V10/25, Darwin to Darwin

Hi Everyone,
Welcome to day 4 of our ‘Top End’ adventure. Overnight, we continued to make good speed and, as planned, entered Koolama Bay at 0700 this morning, coming safely to anchor a short time later. Following Morning Brief we commenced boat runs up the picturesque King George River to the spectacular waterfalls, where our young mariners got to have a good leg stretch with a walk to the top of the falls so they could experience the amazing views.
It’s been a fantastic day, which will continue tomorrow, so I will now hand over to Blue Watch to tell you all about their experiences.
Until tomorrow, take care.
Capt Gav.

Ahoy there Baddies at home, today is day four of our epic Young Endeavour trip!
Our day started at 0030 on watch, after being woken by our fellow shipmates. Luckily, no sickness, we were all ready to rock and roll. After furling some sails, learning nav and having some chats, our watch was over. We went back to bed, and bang, woke up to being anchored in the Koolama Bay (just outside King George River). After having a solid breakfast, we were off to an adventure…
We hopped in the GPIB and RHIB and went for an hour and a half on a cold and windy ride through King George River. We found some spectacular waterfalls at the end. We then approached the only available landing space and hugged a tree, #treehugger. We had to climb a pretty hectic slope to get to the top, and ran into a few green ants on the way. Got to the top of the waterfall, took some specky photos for Instagram, #InstaBaddies. After an amazing adventure and too many Jelly Beans later (I like Jelly Beans), our Uber finally arrived (5 Stars), we came back to the Young Endeavour covered in salt and smiles 🙂
After some much-needed salad wraps and clothes cleaning, we chilled out for the afternoon and had a yummy BBQ dinner! Super keen for tomorrow and feeling so grateful for the opportunity to see these unreal places and have these amazing memories.
Blue Watch Baddies signing off,
Rhiannon, Tara, James, and Liam 🙂
