Day 03 – V10/25, Darwin to Darwin

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to day 3 of our voyage. Overnight in strengthening conditions, we made good speed under sail across the Joseph Bonaparte Gulf and by sunrise, we were located  120nm to the NE of King George River. Regretably, with these conditions came an unpleasant swell which did not go down well with our young mariners and a number have succumbed to the Sailors’ Curse (Seasickness) That said, they have pushed through it, and by late afternoon you could see the colour coming back into their faces and the smiles return.

Overnight, we will remain in sea watches and continue to make best speed to King George River, which is our planned anchorage for tomorrow.

That’s enough from me, I will hand over to Evelyn from Blue Watch, who will tell you all about her day.

Until tomorrow, take care

Capt Gav

Ahoy there!

Early start today with a beautiful sunrise, Blue team got to take a climb on early morning watch to view the sun wake up! Today was a bit of a slow one as the majority of the youth team hadn’t grown into their sea legs yet.

We all finally joined together in the afternoon once everyone had roped their stomachs into place (pun intended), to play our next rope races! Blue team is now in the lead with 10 points!

There was a nice breeze all day, but the sun shining on our faces helped bring everyone’s spirits up! To say the least, I think everyone is ready for our 4th day!

Until tomorrow,
Evelyn.
