Community Day Sail

We weighed anchor this morning and berthed at the Eden Breakwater wharf at 0900. We sailed an hour later with our 20 guests embarked. Once clear of the wharf we set the fore and aft sails and sailed close hauled on the starboard tack in the light conditions. We then tacked, with the assistance of or day sailors and made ground to the west, before wearing and running downwind towards Eden with only the Topsail set. During the day sail we fed our guests a light lunch and the Youthies also provided them with some entertainment that they did for us on command day.We berthed back at the wharf at 1300 and then the Youthies undertook their end of voyage chats, facilitated by their Watch Leaders. Shore leave was then given to allow the crew to stretch their legs and get a coffee and a piece of cheesecake. We departed the wharf and returned to our Nullica Bay anchorage. The crew then undertook the traditional preparation for coming into port of the “harbour furl” of the square sails.Tonight the Youthies will spend their last night onboard at anchor before we farewell them tomorrow. We berthed and farewelled our guests at 1300
