Sailing, Command day
Well today is the day that the youth crew of the Young Endeavour are put to the test. It is our turn to take full control of the ship for a duration of 24 hours, this includes all aspects of sailing as well as cooking all meals without the assistance of the staff crew.We woke up this morning in the foggy fishing port of Stanley TAS. After going ashore to complete some games, we had free time to have a look around the town. When we got back to the ship the real fun was to begin! It was our turn to take control of the ship. (god help us_)The captain handed over his ship at 1500 and is hoping to get it back at 1500 tomorrow afternoon. In the mean time we will have to complete a variety of tasks that have been set for us. These include making our way through way points that have been set for us and also being able to make an anchor by 0300 Tuesday morning. Our creative skills have also been put to the test with murals, singing and most important our cleaning skills! So for the next 24 hours the Young Endeavour should make for some really interesting sailing and hopefully be able to get where we are going without getting to far lost. Wish us all the luck that we needMarcus Smith, Youth Crew Captain

Thank you Tarvi, Kaeden and Matt for your narrative of today's events. Intentions are to remain at anchor in Hunters Bay, just off HMAS Penguin, home of the RAN Diving School, a place close to my heart, having spent many a day there under training as a young Officer! The plan is to weigh anchor and proceed to HMAS Waterhen, in Waverton, to pick up our Community Day Sailors from the Windgap Foundation and take them for a sail around the harbour for 3 hours. The Youth Crew will help us host our visitors and give them an experience of Young Endeavour. We will drop them back to Waverton and then proceed to anchor in the harbour where we will have a good view of the Bridge and the Opera House for the Youth Crew's last night onboard. Until tomorrow. Yours Aye, Captain Mike
