Hi Everyone,
Following a good nights rest at anchor the Youth Crew were awake and on deck for an Early Morning Activity (EMA) at 0630 this morning. On completion of breakfast, morning brief and cleaning stations (Happy Hour) the Youth Crew were ferried ashore to the very scenic beach at Norman Bay were they enjoyed a good leg stretch, a game of touch football and a refreshing swim. By 1330 everyone was back on board and preparations were made to weigh anchor so that we could depart Norman Bay and take full advantage of the forecasted afternoon sea breeze. This occurred as if scripted at1430 which enabled us to bring the ship under a full press of sail then go straight into a good set of rotational tacks. Once we had completed this activity a new course was shaped to the north west and with the assistance of a very pleasant south easterly we commenced our 70nm passage to the entry to Port Phillip Bay.

Overnight the Youth Crew will complete the Apples and Onions Exercise (peer assessment exercise) and continue to consolidate their navigation and sailing skills in preparation for Command Day.

At the moment we are located 5nm to the south west of Cape Liptrap, sailing down wind under square sails and achieving a comfortable 5kts of boat speed.

It has been a perfect day for all of us onboard Young Endeavour.

Until tomorrow, take care.

Yours Aye

Captain Gav
