Hi Everyone,
As with everyone else on the NSW South Coast the Crew of YOUNG ENDEAVOUR awoke this morning to torrential rain and gale force winds. Following morning brief the anchor was weighed and a we commenced our wet passage out of Jervis Bay. Due to 30-35kt E-SE winds this was easier said than done and it ended up taking us 6 tacks to exit the Bay. On reaching open water we were greeted with an unpleasant 2.5m swell and as you can imagine it was not a pleasant ride. That said, the Youth Crew handled it well and quite quickly adjusted to the rough conditions. throughout the day we have been making good ground to the north and the Youth Crew have been getting plenty of heavy weather sailing experience. At the moment we are located 10nm to the east of Kiama sailing well under a reduced sail plan.

Overnight we will continue to make as much ground to the north as possible and assess our anchorage options tomorrow.

Until tomorrow, take care

Yours Aye

Captain Gav
