THE YOUTH CREW WERE INTRODUCED TO THE OLDE TRADITION OF ROPE RACES.FOLLOWED SHORTLY AFTERWARDS WITH A NAVIGATION LECTURE PRESENTED BY YOUNG ENDEAVOURS OWN NAVIGATOR, VASCO PHIL. WITH ALL FORE AND AFT
SAILS INCLUDING THE FISHERMAN SET THE YOUTH CREW SETTLED BACK INTO TALL SHIP ROUTINES THROUGHOUT THE AFTERNOON. AS THE NE'LY
WINDS FRESHENED THE FISHERMAN WAS HANDED IN AND THE UPPER SQUARES WERE SET BEFORE TACKING STATIONS. THE SHIP TACKED WITHIN TEN
MINUTES AFTER CLOSING UP WHICH IS A MARVELLOUS EFFORT CONSIDERING THAT THIS IS DAY 2 OF THE VOYAGE. OVERNIGHT THE WINDS REMAINED FRESH REQUIRING THE SHIP TO TACK AT 0400 USING ONLY TWO WATCHES. LAND FALL
WAS MADE OFF PORT STEPHENS DURING THE FORENOON JUST AS MORNING BRIEF WAS BEING CONDUCTED. THIS EVENT PROVIDED THE MUCH NEEDED RELIEF TO THOSE SUFFERING FROM SEA SICKNESS.
