Today saw the commencement of the Voyage 01/08 the first voyage for YOUNG ENDEAVOUR in 2008 and our 20th Anniversary Year. All new Youth Crew arrived safely onboard and after Crew introductions and safety briefs Young Endeavour was farewelled from her berth at Princes Wharf No2 in Hobart by family and friends and proceeded to Anchor in Sandy Bay, just east of the Hobart Casino. As the evening was quite warm everyone enjoyed a pleasant swim prior to sitting down to one of Chads fantastic dinners. This evening saw most of the Youth Crew achieve climbing to the Topgallant Yard (highest yard) and witness a special Mount Wellington/Hobart sunset. Tomorrow morning will see us complete sail setting and furling drills and commence our passage down the Derwent River and out into Storm Bay. With favourable winds predicted we should make good speed up the East Coast of Tasmania on the first part of our passage to Sydney.

Yours Aye
