Hi Everyone, Welcome to Day 7 of our voyage. It was a clear but cold morning that greeted the Youth Crew of Young Endeavour this morning. Rather than the normal morning activities we started the morning with Captains Setting and Furling Drills which was completed by 0915 with all watches demonstrating a high standard of safety and successfully passing this activity. A later than normal morning brief and cleaning stations followed then just after midday I gave my Command Day Brief. Whilst this was occurring we entered Kangaroo Islands Nepean Bay then transited the short distance into Kingscote Harbour coming safely to anchor 1245. Once at anchor the Youth Crew were ferried ashore to the town of Kingscote where they were given the opportunity to have a good leg stretch, brave a swim at a local beach, browse through the few shops that happened to be open or just sit and enjoy a real coffee. This evening with everyone safely back onboard we enjoyed a teak deck BBQ and once completed the Youth Crew held their Command Day elections. To complete the night’s activities we will be screening the Tall Ship movie ‘Around Cape Horn’ then following an anchor brief from Adam our resident ‘Navman’ everyone will turn in for a well deserved good nights rest at anchor in preperation for which I am sure will be a challenging but most rewarding Command Day. Until tomorrow, take care. Yours Aye Captain Gav
