Captain's Log
V16/18 Airlie Beach to Gladstone

Day 11 – Final log entry

Well, ladies and gents, boys and girls,
Today is the final day of V16/18 and shiver me timbers (ye olde nautical saying), what a voyage it’s been. We’ve had some great weather, amazing sailing and some of the best anchorages I’ve ever been to. I’m sure the youthies will be remember this voyage forever.
Youth crew did one final happy hour to ensure a clean ship for the oncoming youth crew of V17/18 which commences Sunday. Then at 0930 we departed our berth and made our way into the marina sound before turning around and commencing our approach back to the marina, youth crew manned the yards and we discharged our cannon to indicate our peaceful intentions. At 1000, we berthed starboard side to Gladstone Marina with a small contingent to welcome us.
I’ve had a fantastic voyage and I know the other staff members did too. Thanks to the resilience and adaptability of the youthies, because they are the ones who made it a success. Thanks must also go to the staff who did an amazing job throughout, including some new staff members who did a superb job. Well done.
Well that’s it from me, but like I said to the gang today, your voyage is over but the journey never ends… you may be leaving Young Endeavour but Young Endeavour never leaves you.
Yours Aye,
Captain Adam+
