COMMAND DAY COMMENCES

Ahoy there everyone,Overnight Young Endeavour was at anchor adjacent to Patonga Beach, Broken Bay. The next morning, and after electing the Youth Crew Command Team in preparation for Command Day, taking place from 1300 hours we realised it was our time to take control. These new positions in the Command Team included;Youth Crew Captain – CassieSail Master – BrownieNavigators – Nick and SteveOfficers of the Watch – Tom, Pat and RosieWatch Leaders – Brodie, Adam and MorganChefs – Anthea, Liz and TimThereafter, we began to plan the challenge of running this 22 million dollar Sail Training Ship that is the Young Endeavour for 24 hours. Morning arrived with the wakey wakey tune for the morning being one of Tug’s favourites Don’t Stop Belevin by the Glee Cast. Breakfast was next with a good healthy food option of Pancakes with Ice cream and berries on the menu. The morning brief and happy hour were next on the agenda with the Youth Crew eager to start Command Day. After happy hour, the newly elected Command Team had a chance to talk to the staff whose jobs we were taking for Command Day and ask any relevant questions before taking control.Lunch provided by the 3 Chefs had given the crew a good start and were ready to take on the challenges ahead for the next 24 hours. After handing the ship over to myself at 1300 hours, the tradition of a Captain’s hat, telescope and orders were given. The first tasks of 24 were attacked whilst at anchor in Broken Bay with a man made hammock of ropes and a Beach Assault Crew (BAC) were just some of the challenges ahead.Until tomorrow evening, take careYours ayeYouth Crew Captain Cassie
