22 Apr Captain’s Log – Day 7, V06/25
Ahoy there all ye land lubbers! Today us youthies had an early rise to ‘Under the Sea’ then got straight into setting sails while watching the sunrise. We had enough of mother nature’s force (wind) to turn off the grumbling engines for the first time. She carried us safely by merely our sails, travelling at a cracking speed! We have had blue skies this whole time, however, this morning there was a small rain storm! Never fear, we still tended to our duties to keep the ship sailing on course.
Kingy had scrumptious pancakes and croissants ready for us to gobble on like chickens eating their pellets, fuelling us eager youthies for the busy day ahead.
In our watches, we tacked the ship, meaning we completed sailing drills to prepare for the one and only COMMAND DAY (tomorrow) where our staffies will be taking a much needed holiday and the youthies take the helm.
We anchored at Heron Island, set more sails then exceeded at a mysterious captain’s challenge. As the final glimmer of sun descended below the cloudy horizon, the much awaited Command Day elections commenced. Soooooo, a big congratulations to those lucky enough to be elected to Command Day positions:
– Captain Kenzie
– Sail Master Liv
– Navigator Finley
– Watch Officer Josie
– Watch Leader: Grace, Shannon and Eddie
– Cheffos: Archie, Cara, Alexis and Maisy
– Wellbeing Officer Reese
Signing off for now, we will keep you updated when we make it through on our own!!!!
